Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I haven't posted for a while and life has been pretty interesting. Besides school and going skiing occasionally to make Scott jealous the holidays have been the only major event. oh, and I had a surprise birthday party which was amazing because I wasn't expecting it all. I was very shocked. Yesterday mom and I did the "huffing for stuffing" run and that was pretty fun. After that we went on the traditional Christmas tree hunt up by hylite. I found it very pathetic how small our family picture has shrunk. After getting a tree, doing some avi training with Jacob, and sledding down once (me and Jake had the really small pink sled so that the only way we could both fit on was if we faced each other with one person going backwards. Needless to say it was interesting) we came home to have Thanksgiving dinner with the Tenglesons. Today Jacob and I went up to Bridger. Scott, I really hate to have to tell you this but it was another epic powder day at Bridger Bowl. We went up the ridge to Super Coulior and it was definitely the best snow that I've ever skied there. It was kind of scary because it was sluffing a lot but it was still so much fun to ski out. Fresh powder tracks all the way down. And I got to try out my new alpine touring gear! I absolutely love it, it makes hiking so much easier! That's pretty all that's happened lately. Lana, I posted a video of the marimba just for you. And what do you mean by that one comment on my last post, " I tagged you"?

Mountain West Classic

Fine Emily, I will blog about my meets now. umm, this saturday we had a meet over in Missoula. There were a lot of people and it was definitely a faster race. I ran a personal best of 17:19 and since that pace actually felt really good I think I'm going to try to run 17 flat in Butte, which is a really fast course, and stay up with the front runners. Maybe I'll even be able to win it, wouldn't that be cool, heres some pics and a video that dad took of the meet on Saturday. See if you can pick me out in the video.

umm, went skiing up at Blackmore on Tuesday, it was pretty cool. I went with some stoner college student and his dog who were up there and they seemed really nice. I didn't get any pics so thats pretty much all. Guess I'll be able to ski all months this year since I bet there will be more snow at the end of october. oh, and the epocsy fix on my ski is starting to crack and break out so I guess my AC2's are headed for the trash. oh well, I skiied on them the whole season perfectly and all of the high class expensive ski shops in Utah said it was unfixable. Maybe not fixable but it was patchable. way to go dad. Thats all for now.

Skiing in july

Well, I think I might have to call it a season now. Even though there is still a lot of snow here, by the time I get back from Utah it will probably be all gone. I skied into July though so I am happy with that. On Wednesday morning me and Dylan headed up to Bridger at 3:30 ( dad was kind enough to drive us that early in the morning) and headed up the mountain. We went up to the top of Alpine, changed into ski boots, headed up the Apron until we reached the nonexistent traverse, and then went up Hidden a little ways before we took a left up the Fourth Virtue. At the top of the virtue I unstrapped my helmet from my backpack and was holding it by the ear flap when the flap suddenly broke off. I was left standing at the top of one of Bridgers steepest, tightest chutes as I watched my helmet tumble out of sight ( I'm very annoyed about that as I now have no helmet that actually fits me). Fortunately for me the run wasn't as hard as it was made out to be by my ridge book. It wasn't as steep as it felt climbing up and the straightline at the bottom was only about thirty or forty feet long before it poured out into the gut of Hidden Gully. That was a very fun trip. Yesterday me and dad hiked up to pine creek lake because I wanted to get at least one more outing in before Utah and dad wanted to do some fishing. I do not recommend toting skis and boots up 5 miles of switchbacks in the same day as heading a mile to the base of the mountain and up the chutes. I skied the skiers right fork of something that some of the locals we talked to called the "Y". It is appropriately named as it is shaped like a Y with a big rock fin dividing the prongs at the top of Mount Black. The chute was definitely the steepest thing that I have ever skied. I was so tired going up that I didn't think that I as going to be able to summit but I made it after all. Towards the top I was really wishing that I had previously invested in climbing crampons and ice axes because it was so steep. After taking some pictures at the top I headed down the well over 45 degree steep slope. avalanche conditions weren't to bad but I did have to watch out for my sluff as it poured down behind me. once I got back down to the lake a huge thunder storm rolled in and I got pretty wet from that. I was so tired hiking back down I thought I wasn't going to make it but I eventually did. When I took my pack off at the car I felt like I was going to fall over because of the weight difference. In the pictures Mount Black is the one in the middle with a huge cliff butte at the top and a Y shaped line of snow coming down on the right side of it. I skied the prong that is on the upper left in the picture.

well every body, I'm back from my trip to utah with dad. I went to snowbird for a day and they actually had just got fresh snow the night before so there was powder skiing all day long. Me and dad drove down to Moab and there I had the chance to ski off the summit of mount tukuhnikivatz. That is a 12,482 ft tall mountain in the La Sals. You can see me hiking in the first picture. The picture of my tracks are from the first day when I was just messing around at the base of the mountain( well, I guess side actually)because of increased avalanche danger up on the main mountain The next day I left at 6:30, made the summit before 9, and then skied the face that is facing straight and to the left in the picture.I got some great pics from the top. talk to everyone later! keep leaving comments, I love reading them!

ya,skiing!

Well every one, I only got to go skiing three times this week. I really wish that I had found this place earlier so I could have done some more skiing. Oh well, I got to ski three times more this week then anyone else in our family and I also got some great pics and mom took a random video of me skiing down. I know that I am going to the beartooth to ski on memorial day weekend and I might also go to Blackmore peak with this guy that I know. I also will probably go up to Bridger sometime so I have at least two more times to ski this season. Guess what, I just got a $300-500 dollar pair of boots for$40. I also got 2 free pairs of ski poles, a one dollar black diamond climbing harness, 4 water bottles for 25 cents each and a free radio/LED light. Good stuff, huh.
Nancy, you need to update your blog! It hasn't changed for about a year now and I check it pretty much every day. Get a move on! Talk to you later!

to many pics and videos!

I have so many photos and other things that I want to show everybody that I can't fit them all on the blog. Here are some of my favorites including the video and pics of me eating it off of DRCS (thats the cliff in the north bowl with all of the cliff signs above). The drop wasn't acually as big as I thought it would be and the landing was really soft. I was just a little to far back to land it properly. I also really like the videos and pictures of Dillon hitting stuff. Oh and by the way, all of these were taken on a 17 inch powder day. Yah! Fresh tracks and face shots all day long. Have fun doing whatever adults do!

Hello everyone!
All the snow is melting but there is still enough for Justin to go big. Enjoy the videos.

PS I have hit everything show here (I acually showed Justin all of these) but I have to film so I'm not in the movies.
